The island of Bora Bora has always been touted as a paradise not only for honeymooners but those that just want
to get away from their stressful activities. A popular stress-buster destination, its visitors are treated to
a plenitude of activities and the only hindrance is your stamina, so if you’re up for it let me introduce you
to the wonderland that is Bora Bora.

Bora Bora is located in the Pacific Ocean and it’s gifted with the breathtaking geography of French Polynesia.
Surrounded by a breathtaking lagoon and barrier reef, this tiny archipelago has more to offer than its relative
small size. Central to the island is the popular remnant of an extinct volcano forming two peaks with one
rising up to 727 meters which is challenging enough for hiking and an extinct volcano doesn’t sporadically
spew ashes making it a friendly trek.

In WW2, the island was chosen as the strategic base of the United States hence seven artillery guns fortified
the islands from strategic locations against military attacks. However, the island was never attacked
considering the volume of US firepower that it once contained. Today, these giant cannons present a contrasting
element to what the island truly stands for, which is a spectacular island paradise. Nonetheless, they’re
vintage guns and they’re really good to look at taking into account their enormous size.

Tourism is the main driver of Bora Bora’s economy although it also has a popular copra production. The island’s
culture is rich and diverse and the 8,000 permanent residents are welcoming people. Life in Bora Bora is
amazingly easy just like living in the paradise thus making your vacation a genuinely unforgettable experience.

Most of the activities are aqua-centric; think pristine beaches, carefree sunbathing or just frolicking in the
crystal clear waters. Divers also frequent the island for its superb diving experience like the Aquarium site,
which is perfect for beginner divers, and it’s only a 5-minute boat ride. Divers and snorkelers, prepare to be
welcomed by the island’s rich marine biodiversity and breathtaking coral gardens.

Aside from water fun activities, there are also mainland attractions other than being enthralled by the
destructive power of the seven vintage cannons in the mainland. Those who have adventure plans won’t be missed
by the island’s 4X4 Jeep Safari rides which comprise of visiting three villages and four vantage points
overlooking the lagoon plus the added bonus of fruit tasting and an informative visit to the island’s sole
pearl farm.

If you’re ready to break free from your stressful jobs, Bora Bora is certainly not to be missed.
